Indian-American wins Miss India Worldwide 2017

The Indian-American model, Madhu Valli, who is a student of Criminal Law in the George Mason University in Virginia and a hip hop artist has been crowned as the winner of Miss India Worldwide 2017 on Sunday in a grand ceremony held at New Jersey.

Valli’s latest album was released a day before the pageant. Recording album was always her passion since the day she started learning music at the age of eight. While speaking to the Press Trust of India, Valli said that she wants to become a next biggest bridge between Bollywood and Hollywood.

According to the organizers, the event shows how the Indian community has still nurtured the values of their cultures in the land, which is thousand miles away from India. Valli was selected as the winner of pageant among other 18 contestants.

While Stephanie Madavane from France secured the second place, third spot was won by Sangeeta Bahadur from Guyana.

An interior designer from Texas, Indian-American Sarita Pattnaik has been crowned as the winner of Mrs. India Worldwide. Pattnaik, who is a mother of two, wants to be a social activist and to become a voice for the women empowerment campaign.

The Miss India Worldwide pageant, organized by the New York based India Festival Committee, is the only international Indian pageant which covers around 3 countries, according to the IFC.
