Indian-Americans to be honoured

The six Indian-Americans are going to be felicitated by the Indian-American Kerala Cultural and Civic center in the 25th Anniversary Award Banquet on November 4.

The event, which will also had a presence of Indian Consul General in New York Sandeep Chakravorty as chief guest, will be organized in World’s Fair Marina in Flushing. In the event Dr. Abraham George will also be present as the speaker.

This year the list of people, who will be honored, include,the first Indian-American lady, who got elected to in the House of Representatives and a Congresswoman, who is also a representative for State of Washington’s seventh Congressional district, Pramila Jaypal. Partner at Wormser, Kiely, Galef & Jacobs LLP Law Firm, attorney Appen Menon, writer Dr. Sheela NP for contribution in Literature, Dr. AKB Pillai for Humanities, a community volunteer Sheela Sreekumar as well as Ginsmon Zakaria, for achieving high in media.

The LifeTime Achiever Awards will be given to the founder of Shanti Bhavan, Dr. Abraham George, Founder and chairman of Sami-Sabinsa Group Dr. Muhammad Majeed, Sreedhar Menon, a philanthropist, entrepreneur Dilip Varghese and the Professor of Columbia University P Somasundaram.

According to the Kerala Center Founder Executive Director EM Stephen the center has felicitated 140 achievers in the last 25 years, who have contributed big to the society.
