H1-B visa holders campaigning for green card

Around 100 Indian H1-B visa holders campaigned and reach out to the lawmakers in US on Monday requesting to clear the backlog of the green card applications.

The Indian community is the largest foreign community in the US under the temporary work visas. In the United States, the Green Card or the permanent permission of residency is provided according to the country quota.

Portal to Track Adoption Status for NRIs Soon

The leaders of the Skilled Immigrants in America, who has also organized the campaign claimed that going by the current rate, it would take them around 70 years to receive their green card.

Every year the country issues a million green card. Among them, 1,40,000 are employment based. Indian share in this is 7%.
