indian man sent to jail in Singapore

An Indian-origin man has been arrested and sent to the jail for smoking in the prohibited area in Singapore along with assaulting as well as threatening the law enforcement officials, according to the reports.

According to the report published in The Straits Time, 59-year-old Ramasamy Soogumar admitted in court on Friday for harming a police officer along with National Environment Agency official.

Soogumar, who had been recently released from the jail after 11 years, was working as a cleaner in school and now he has been held by the police again.

Reports also said that Soogumar hurled various vulgarities at the security officers and slapped them after bumping into him using chest. He was sent to jail earlier as well for attempting similar crime.

Soogumar’s lawyer however, pleaded for mercy for his client to the judge Imran Abdul Hamid as Soogumar was in inebriated state.
