Japan has announced that it will relax visa rules for Indians from January 1, 2018. It will now issues easy multiple – entry – visa for short term stay which will benefits the Indian tourists as well as businessmen.

The Japanese Embassy reported that this relaxing of visa regime will have direct implications of reducing the complicated list of visa application documents too. It will also increase the scope of eligible applicants for the Japanese visa.

The applicant will now be exempted from producing his employment certificate and explanation letter stating reasons for stay. In order to get a visa an applicant will only need three documents. A passport visa application form (with photo), Papers to show economic capability if you are a tourist and Individuals affiliation certificate to the enterprise for business purposes. As reported by the Japanese foreign ministry release.

You can now get a multiple entry visa of Five years maximum with a stay of maximum 90 days. It will be issued to people who have travel records to Japan at least twice or more times in the last year. Such candidates may only submit their passport and visa application forms.

The Embassy said that “The relaxations are expected to help further development of people-to-people exchanges between Japan and India by enhancing convenience for Indian tourists and business persons as well as repeat visitors”

In February this year, Japan had introduced the simplification of visa application process for single entry visa for Indian Students. This was done to promote Indian youth to visit japan.
