NRI boy donates prize money

A boy from Kuwait, Riddhiraj Kumar, who is currently learning in Class 3 has donated the prize money Rs. 18,000, which he won in an international test, to the Army Welfare Fund.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Kumar along with his mother met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday and presented the cheque.

Kumar won 80 Kuwaiti Dinar (equals Rs. 18,000) in a Bench Mark Test for Improving Learning Award for Excellence held by the Australian Council for Education Research (ACER).

Riddhiraj, who belongs to the Indian Educational School, in Kuwait managed to win in both Mathematics and Science from the Middle East region.

Statement released by the PMO said that the Prime Minister congratulated the excellency in education and his generosity. Kumar also has several projects assigned to his name.

PM Narendra Modi also appreciated the works of Kumar’s mother Krupa Bhatt, who is working on the initiative “Every Child is Genius” and conducting various seminars for the project.
