Richard Verma becomes vice chairman

The former United States Ambassador to India, Richard Verma has become a partner as well as vice chairman of The Asia group, according to the press release published by the firm recently.

The firm, in the press release said that the former Indian-American diplomat is going to bring around 20 years of experience in working at the top level of government along with business and diplomacy in the Asia-Pacific region.

Verma has confirmed the news by calling the group “innovative, creative and reputed for excellence” in a statement and added that he is “pleased to continue working for the important trade and economic issues across the Asian region, especially in India”.

Verma, who has worked as an US diplomat to India for 2 years, released from his role after the decision by the newly elected Trump Administration. Verma has a significant amount of education backing with him as he is a Law graduate from Lehigh University, Washington College of Law and Georgetown University Law Center of American University.

He has also worked at National Democratic Institute, the US Air Force, Steptoe & Johnson LLP. He was also an adviser at US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid along with US Department of State, the Center for American Progress as well as Albright Stonebridge group.

Verma will be providing his leadership at The Asia group to expand the firm’s South Asia practice. He will also work in increasing its abilities along with providing effective solutions to the clients working in the Indo-Pacific region.
