Shantanu Narayen, the Indian-American Adobe CEO, will lead the USISPF board i.e. the US-India Strategic and Partnership Forum. He has been elected as the USISPF board’s vice chairman. As per a statement from the body, the organization was newly set up to improve the business relations between the US and India.

Additionally, former CIA Director Gen (rtd) David Petraeus is elected as the new advisor. The chairman and managing director of Spice Jet Limited, Ajay Singh, and Cisco senior vice president of Supply Chain Operations, John Kern, joined the Washington-based advocacy group as its new members. With the new additions, the USISPF now has 31 board members.

Newly appointed Narayen said, “Strong strategic ties between the US and India have never been more important than they are today.” He added that the USISPF also emerged as a powerful force in the strategic partnership between the US and India.

“India is at a pivotal time in this relationship, with the United States recognising India as “a leading power” in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond,” Singh said, adding that he looks forward to promoting this powerful partnership through his work with the forum.

Kern said India is an incredible country for Cisco, representing an emerging economy with a great growth opportunity, world-class talent, and an integral part of our global supply chain.

“I look forward to building the US-India relationship through my work at Cisco and in my work at USISPF,” he added.

The USISPF said the new representative body was setup to promote bilateral trade and work on creating meaningful opportunities that have the power to change the lives of citizens.

Coming with the previous experience as the director of the CIA and commander of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and Commander, US Forces Afghanistan (USFOR-A), besides the commander of US Central Command and commander of the multinational force in Iraq during the surge developments, Petraeus will be assisting the forum with its assessment of counter-terrorism efforts and geopolitical developments.

The USISPF President Mukesh Aghi said, “We are excited to welcome these three important leaders to our board,”

“They will add great value to the work that the USISPF board and staff is already doing with regards to trade, supply chain management and defence work,” he added.
