7-Easy-Art-And-Craft

While it is easier for you to understand why staying in a lockdown is important, explaining that to your kids or toddler can be difficult. As hard as it for you to keep yourself engaged at home, it is even more difficult for your kids to stay at home and keep themselves entertained. In case you have been looking for some easy activities and crafts that you can do to keep your child engaged during lockdown, we have a few that you can check out.

Make a Pandemic rainbow

If you follow the things happened during the pandemic in the UK, you’d find out that the people there are supporting the NHS by wearing rainbow shirts and drawing rainbows. This is one of the best art activities that you can engage your child with.

Give them all the colours that they need and simply let them get on with their wild imaginations. Once they are done drawing it, you can hang it up on the door or even stick it to the fridge.

If you want to make things easier for your child, you can print out a rainbow template and then draw on it as per your likings.

Make a Family tree

Making a family tree is one of those amazing craft ideas that will come in handy in teaching your kids about your family and connections that you have. This is an exciting way to familiarise your kids to the part of the extended family members that they are probably not aware of.

There are a number of ways in which you can create a family tree, irrespective of how big or small your family is.

Often times, you can even let your kids draw the family tree on the wall, if you have a spare wall that can be repainted without any hassle. Your kids are already constrained to a place, given them the freedom to do things on their own.

Make a Bubble painting

Bubble painting is not just fun, it is quite a good way to let your child learn about colours and art. The process of making bubble paint at home is pretty simple. All that you need is some liquid paint, water and dishwashing soap.

Start by making a running solution of the paint and water and then add in the soap and using a straw, blow bubbles into the container. Once you have a lot of bubbles arising in the tub, place a thick paper to “print” the bubbles on the paper.

If required, you can even switch up the colours and use multiple colours to make more such drawings for your kids. The only thing you need to be careful of is preventing your child from sipping the solution through the straw.

Chalk art

If there’s one art activity that is God sent, it is chalk art. They are easy to clean and keep your child hooked for a longer period of time too. If you have a front porch that is secure, you can leave them to do their things while you get some work done around the house. It is quite easy for you to tackle things when it comes to this.

You can even use these colourful chalks to do some studies and teach them some basics around that you otherwise wouldn’t.

So, if you find your children complaining about being bored, you can effectively go out and let them go crazy with all of these colourful chalks and then them paint to their heart’s desire.

Make Paper flowers

In case you have a teen or a big child who likes crafts and such activities, we would suggest you let them make some paper flowers. You can use the toilet paper rolls but since they are not that abundant in the market, try and recreate them with all the scrape paper that you have at home.

For this, you can paint any kind of paper that you have on hand. Cut them out in the shape of flowers or petals and then glue everything together to make flowers and such. It is pretty simple but the activity does keep your children engaged for a longer time period.

Once they are done making them, you can even hang the craft up anywhere around the house, which again is pretty amazing.

Indulge in some tie dye

Tie dye is probably one of the most fun activities that you can do with your children. It is not just underrated but lets you transform your boring shirts into a completely new one. Incase you have a lot of plain tshirts lying around, we would suggest that you try this out.

All you need is some string, some soda ash, dye and a tshirt. Make sure that you always keep an eye out on your children when they are doing it. This is important because it can other cause a chaos.

Fill up your bucket with water and then wet the tshirt completely. To the soda ash, add some water and mix it to make a smooth paste.

Tie the tshirts in random folds and keep it inside a big tub so you don’t create a mess. Take the dye that you have and squirt it around randomly on the tshirt and let it stain the color for a bit longer.

Once the tshirt is dry, you can simply just cut the strings and you will have an amazing tie dye tshirt without any issues.
