UK on the other hand has been forced into another lockdown. The number of cases have been drastically increasing. There have been 1,449 deaths within the last 28 days. There have been a total of 16,840 cases of the disease recorded over the last week. A reported 9.65 million people have been given the vaccine for the virus.
The UK variant has been developing and spreading all across the country, sending UK into an alarming situation. There have been11 reports of the UK new variant stain called the E484K mutation, which might have originated from south-west England. It is the same chain that has been seen in South Africa and Brazil. The spread of this new mutant variant has caused concern. However, health officials state that the existing vaccine is effective against the mutant strain as well.
