The 12 foot metallic structure has been an odd attraction for people all over the world, especially on the internet. No body knows what these monolith’s are, where they come from or what they do.

On February 14, a monolith appeared in the capital Kinshasa’s Bandal neighbourhood, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Locals have been taking selfies, celebrating festivals and crowding around the monolith before a few citizens started destroying it with sticks and burning it with fire, stating that it is an evil symbol. Pictures and videos of the citizens burning the monolith have surfaced the internet and it is going viral.

After completely burning the monolith, when reporters took a look inside, the silver pillar was hollow on the inside and had metal sheets spread across the frame.

Nobody knows how the monolith appeared in Congo in the first place. In fact, ever since November 10th 2020, when the first monolith appeared in the Utah desert, nobody knows how they are popping out at these random places in the first place.

There are a few theories speculated by the internet as to how these 12 feet silver pillars are appearing in these random places. Some believe the monoliths appeared because of the government, sending in secret spies, some even claimed that these monoliths are McDonald’s order machines. A popular concept is that these monoliths were put by aliens to mark their territories once they invade earth in the future, so as it seems.

However, when the monolith was dissected in Congo, there was no signs of any electronic device, wires or gadgets inside and was just hollow.

Monoliths have also made mysterious appearances in other places including the UK, Texas, Poland, Columbia, California and India. A gingerbread monolith was spotted in San Francisco around Christmas last year.

The monolith is actually a structure which is similar to the object shown in the Stanley Kubrick’s sci-fi epic film, “2001: A Space Odyssey” where the monoliths represented the evolution of mankind and precedes it.

The monolith’s appearances and disappearances are truly a mystery for mankind.
