Flights to UK have resumed today despite the highly infectious mutant strain amid the UK. The government has re-opened flights on Wednesday from India to UK and back despite the mutant strain.

Two Air India flights from both Delhi and Mumbai will fly to London from 6th January onwards.

The Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stated on Tuesday that the government is allowing limited flights to come and go from UK to India and Vice verse. A COVID-19 test will be done for all the passengers who will be flying on the plane. The flights will also have medical professionals at all time.

There had been a temporary shut down from December 21 to January 5th. Now, from 70 flights, there will be only 30 flights flying to and fro. From January 8th, UK can enter flights into India and from February 6th, India will start flights to UK.

India now has 58 people who are effected with the new virus strain from UK according to the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday.

Those who want to travel to and from the UK are happy with this decision but citizens in India are concerned regarding the massive spread of the virus in India.
