Constant chime of Vedic chants bounced through the lawns of the White House on Thursday as a Hindu Priest joined in on the National Day of Prayer Service in Rose Garden amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pandit Harish Brahmbhatt chanted the beautiful texts of the Shanti Mantra upon receiving his invitation from President Donald Trump.

Brahmabhatt was the one among the many invited by Trump to join in on the day of the National Day of Prayer Service.

“In these troubled times of COVID-19, social distancing, and the lockdown, it’s not unusual for people to feel anxious or not at peace.  The Shanti Paath, or the peace prayer, is a prayer that does not seek worldly riches, success, fame, nor is it a prayer for any desire for heaven,” said Brahmabhatt.

The Hindu priest chanted the vedic chants from the Yajurveda at White House. He also made everyone aware of its origins before he started chanting the prayers.

“On this National Day of Prayer, America is engaged in a fierce battle against a very terrible disease.  Throughout our history, in times of challenge, our people have always called upon the gift of faith, the blessing of belief, the power of prayer, and the eternal glory of God,” Trump said.

Trump asked all the citizens to come together and join hands in the spiritual awakening and ask the Lord in Heaven for peace and strength during such rough times.

Spiritual leaders from all religions joined together at the White House upon Trump’s invitations on the National Day of Prayer Service.

Trump further consoled saying that the country has witnessed grave impacts in the last few weeks and he prays for every family stricken badly with grief and the impacts of Covid-19. He further extended the prayers for the doctors, frontline workers and even first responder who is putting their life at risk and working for the society.

Trump also prayed for the scientists who are working day in and out to come up with a possible treatment or vaccine option to help stop the spread of the disease. He prayed to God to watch over every single person.

The United States is the worst hit country with over 1.3 million confirmed cases and around 80,000 reported deaths already.
