Indian-American Couple Makes Donation of $250,000 for Harvey Relief

An Indian-American couple has made the donation of $250,000 to the Houston Mayor’s Harvey relief fund, which will be used in the rehabilitation activities and to repair the damage made by the disastrous storm in the state of Texas.

In a private event, Indian-American couple Amit Bhandari and Arpita Brahmbhatt donated the amount in the relief fund of the Mayor Sylvester Turner.

Bhandari, who is a CEO of BioUrja Group, which is an energy and agriculture trading company, along with his wife, is one of the large number of Indian-Americans, who have made contribution towards rehabilitation works for the Harvey relief.

In the event, Mayor Turner also appreciated efforts of the Indian-American community for their contribution in supporting the rehabilitation works for the Hurricane Harvey relief.

During the event, Bhandari also said that the volunteers from the Indian-American community helped in rescuing around 700 people through various means. He also asserted that the Indian-American community has also contributed around $1.5 million to a number of charitable organizations working in relief operation for Hurricane Harvey.
