In a tragic incident which took place last week, a 36 year old Indian man Jijo George, working at the Chicago O’Hare International Airport died after being crushed by airplane equipment during work. He died of multiple injuries after being crushed by the aircraft drivable push-back apparatus at a hangar in the airport. These injuries were revealed through autopsy reports released on Monday by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Geroge lived with his wife who is 8 months pregnant, a young child and his parents. An online fund raiser has been organized in the name of George to raise funds for his family.

George is from Kerala, India and moved to Chicago with his wife and mother. Geroge was a maintenance mechanic for Envoy Air and died while doing work at the airport.

Chicago police stated that they received a call from the airport at around 2 AM for a man unresponsive under a vehicle. He was taken to the Resurrection Medical center, where he died at around 2:50pm. The autopsy reports rules his death as an accident. The O’Hare airport has six months to issue workplace safety citations
