A US- based NRI software professional held for recruiting students to the fake Farmington University.

Phanideep Karnati who is a US- based NRI software professional has been convicted on Wednesday by a court in the United States in Detroit for getting indulged in recruitment of students to the fake Farmington University. It is said that the Farmington University has been set up by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in order to crack down on the fraud that would be caused during immigration.

The convict Phanideep Karnati has been convicted and given a jail term for six months by the US court in Detroit.

The University of Farmington has been set up in 2015 and is a fake university that was set up by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in order to expose the student visa fraud in the United States.

Phanideep Karnati has been taken into custody soon after the verdict has been passed by the US court.

It has been found that Phanideep has a background of engineering which he had pursued in Hyderabad before he moved to the United States in search of a job, eleven years ago. He has maintained that he had no knowledge about the Farmington University being a fake university and has followed the website that belonged to the Farmington University and that it was genuine.

Phanideep is said to be deported to India after he completes the jail term that has been passed by the US court.
