The family of Balbir, a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) has lodged a complaint saying that burglars broke into their house, took money of amount Rs 45,000, two gold biscuits and has killed Balbir.

Balbir Singh who is a 60-year old NRI has been residing at Khatkar Kalan village in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar when the incident had taken place.

The police has arrested the wife and daughter of Balbir as accused for the murder.

The police claimed that, the theft report was found to be made up so that they would never be the suspects. The police has also said that, the murder has been hatched by six people in order to grab the property of the NRI.

Balbir who is Lebanon-based NRI has been murdered by six people which included his wife and his daughter in order to grab the property, says Police.

The accused who were arrested were Amarjit Singh who is the wife of Balbir, amandeep Kaur who is the daughter of Balbir, Jaswinder Kaur, Ahok Kumar, Shiva and Sadam Hussain. The accused are said to be from Hoshiarpur district.

A theft scene has been created at the house of Balbir, while Ashok and his aides killed Balbir on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday and has also made sure that the theft report is modified enduring that they were never suspected.

Balbir had been settled in Lebanon for 23 years, says the police spokesperson. He also said that, both the wife and daughter of Balbir had stayed back and had lived a lavish lifestyle running up a loan of Rs 15 lakh and therefore had planned the murder in order to return the loans, claimed the police.

The accused have been questioned for the murder that has been attempted. Confessions had been made by Balbir’s wife Amarjit Singh as she said that she had already sold two gold biscuits of five gram each which belonged to Balbir. She said that she also wanted to get rs 12-13 lakh in the account of her husband.

The police said that the murder has been cracked which lead to the suspects being the wife and daughter of Balbir, as they had sensed and noticed mysterious behaviour of Amarjit Singh after the incident had taken place. This has lead in questioning her regarding the murder of her husband, following which the truth has been blurted out by Amarjit Singh as she had been put under pressure by the police and the truth behind the murder of Balbir has been cracked. Amarjit Singh has confessed her involvement in the murder of her husband.

The accused have been booked under the section 302 for the murder and under other sections that are relevant of the IPC at the Banga police station in SBS Nagar.
