Donald Trump suggests US citizens to vote twice in the coming November elections. The statement “let them send it and let them go vote” is to send a vote via mail and another vote in person at voting polls.

The President wants the voters to vote once via mail and then in person to know if their vote has already been counted. Whereas, an individual voting more than once in an election is an illegal act and he suggested despite it.

He said, “if it is as good as they say it, then obviously they won’t be able to vote the second time. If it’s not tabulated, they’ll be able to vote. So that’s the way it is. And that’s what they should do”

This is to test the integrity of the elections systems. He repeated similar claims about the systems and the functionality with tweets and in an interview.

For November elections, a few states expanded the mail-in voting due to the coronavirus pandemic.Trump suspects that there is a chance of increasing fraud voting by this. But there is no evidence for Trump’s claims.

In reaction to Trump’s double voting suggestion, State Attorney General Josh Stein, a Democrat, tweeted that “Make sure you vote, but do NOT vote twice! I will do everything in my power to make sure the will of the people is upheld in November.”

Later, Trump’s campaign and the White House denied that the suggestion is not to vote twice illegally.

White House Spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany said “the President is not suggesting anyone do anything unlawful”

“He clearly said is make sure your vote is counted and if it is not, then vote”
