The United Arab Emirates has decided to grant free transit visas for two days, which can as well be prolonged up to 96 hours by paying 50 Dirham or nearly Rs. 930.

One can relish a brief stay of two days at Dubai and Abu Dhabi without paying any visa fee if you are a transit passenger flying to other international destinations.

The execution date has not yet been decided. The regime as well proclaimed that a number of the express counter at the passport-control hall across UAE will be set up for acquiring quick transit visa.

According to Dubai Tourism department’s official numbers, India is already the topmost international tourist source market for Dubai. Each year, nearly 1.8 crore Indians travel to UAE with Dubai and Abu Dhabi being the top tourist destinations for Indians. For leisure travel and jewelry shopping Dubai is very touristy among Indians.

About 25 percent of all international travel from and to India happens one of UAE Airlines, that is Emirates, flyDubai, and Etihad. Emirates is the biggest international airline, in terms of flying people in and out of India, while Jet-Etihad combine is the biggest airline in terms of international travel to and from India.

The decision to grant free 48-hour transit visas is anticipated to further increase the number of visitors to UAE as nearly 75 percent of international travelers transit through these two UAE cities.

UAE has as well proclaimed an umpteen changes in its visa rules. It has approved new visa rules including a review of the present residency system to let a two-year extension of the residency period for the dependents of their parents after completing their university studies.

UAE in other major visa-related decisions has introduced a new 6-month visa for job seekers who overstayed their visa yet wish to work in the country.

In further, visa can be renewed without leaving the country by paying a fee.
