Chinese Premier Xi Jinping told the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) that his country has no intention to fight a hot or cold war with any country.
On Tuesday, China’s President Xi Jinping while addressing the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly said that Beijing has no intention to wage or fight a hot or cold war with any country in the world.
He mentioned that it is quite natural for countries to have differences but they must sort it out through peaceful dialogue.
In a virtual gathering of the world leaders during the coronavirus pandemic, Chinese premier Xi Jinping said in a pre-recorded video statement that China is the largest country in the world that is committed to peaceful, cooperative, and common development.
He asserted that China never seeks hegemony or any sphere of influence and said that we have no intention to fight a war with any country.
Xi Jinping added that China would continue to narrow the differences and resolve the differences with other countries through negotiation and peaceful dialogue.
The session of the United Nations General Assembly started on Monday, September 21 meanwhile the session’s main event where the speeches from each of the 193 nations take place was started on Tuesday.
Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year the leaders of 193 countries are addressing the session through pre-recorded speeches.
Apart from the Chinese Premier, the United States’ Donald Trump and the Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro also spoke on Tuesday. Brazil and the US remain the countries that have reported the highest and second highest coronavirus deaths respectively.
The next lined up speaker is Russian President Vladimir Putin who has gained international attention with his rapid vaccine development.
The United Nations General Assembly is a platform that schedules sessions annuals where the countries seek support, tout their accomplishments, and express their views on global priorities.
This, the sessions went online and the top priority of the General Assembly this time is about the coronavirus pandemic which has killed 960,000 people in the world.
