Countries welcoming US tourists back

The coronavirus cases in the US cross 6.6 million mark and several countries are showing trepidation over welcoming the country.

While the coronavirus cases in the US continue to spike the European Union has already omitted the US from its list of countries whose tourists can visit the EU.

Americans cannot still visit their neighboring country Canada nor the Asian country, Thailand. While most of the Americans are resisting themselves to short trips in their cars, many of them are waiting to go abroad.

For the people who want to visit abroad, many countries have opened their doors to welcome American tourists including Mexico, South Korea, and Ireland.

Meanwhile, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the US State Department have deemed the country to be in “high risk”.

Here is the list of the countries where it is still possible for the US citizens to go for a vacation:

  • Albania

The country has resumed its international commercial flights. You are only expected to undergo a health screening.

However, the country warned that it could implement travel restrictions with immediate effect in case of necessity.

  • Armenia

Turkey’s exquisite neighbor, Armenia is open for the US tourists to come in. Travelers will have to take a COVID-19 test upon arrival and will have to stay in a 14-day quarantine.

Passengers must isolate themselves till they produce a negative PCR result.

  • The Bahamas

Visitors to the Bahamas must request for an online health visa before the journey. They must then upload their COVID-19 negative report not more than 5 days before travel.

Hotel guests must stay in the place for at least 14 days.

  • Bangladesh

The US embassy in Bangladesh says that visitors must carry a medical certificate with English translation with the test taken 72 hours before travel.

Moreover, home isolation for 14 days is also mandatory for visitors.

  • Bermuda

Visitors are required to apply for travel authorization at the cost of $75 for adults and $30 for the flight crew. Also, the visitors who do not carry negative COVID-19 negative reports are not allowed to take this authorization.

  • Brazil

Brazil’s borders are open to the US visitors who submit their proof of the health insurance which is valid in Brazil which is also valid for the entire stay.

  • Cambodia

Visitors must present a negative COVID-19 report not more than 72 hours before travel. They must take another COVID test and if negative, the amount for the test will be refunded.

A positive COVID-19 report involves hospitalization, medical care, and a 14-day quarantine for all the passengers in the flight.

  • Costa Rica

US tourists from 18 states and Washington may enter Costa Rica and the country is planning to admit travelers from California from October 1 if the situation permits.

Travelers’ residency will be verified through their driving license and must also submit a negative COVID-19 test result upon arrival.

  • Dubai

Visitors to Dubai must have medical travel insurance and must present a negative PCR result within 3 days of arrival.

Travelers must also submit a health declaration form before departing confirming that there are no symptoms of the virus.

  • Egypt

Travelers must present the paper copies of a negative PCR report taken within 72 hours of arrival.

  • Kenya

Kenya is open to US travelers with a negative RT-PCR test which is taken 96 hours upon arrival and must pass a health screening.

  • Maldives

The Maldives has reopened to all the international tourists and they must present a negative PCR test report within 72 hours of arrival. However, there is no mandatory quarantine.
