Amidst the grave uncertainty of the coronavirus and while pandemic, the one sector of service that has been working ruthlessly is the healthcare sector. To show support to the individuals fighting for the world, risking their lives, an Indian-American NGO has decided to provide 20,000 meals to the frontline health care workers.

The same is going to be delivered under the resourced hospitals and the local food kitchens based out of New York City, Boston and the Chicago area.

The NGO, American Indian Foundation, reported that they have collaborated with World Central Kitchen for making this happen for the healthcare professionals.

The CEO of the Organisation, Nishant Pandey said that as the condition of the covid-19 keeps on expanding, the healthcare workers in both US and India are working tirelessly to provide the optimal care for the patients. He said that now is the time they require everyone’s support more than ever.

This collaboration is the latest venture on AIF’s part for the Covid-19 response through which it is already helping 100,000 people including some of the migrant workers from India who have had to experience the worst hit of the same because of the social and economic fall out.

Pandey expressed his happiness saying that he is elated that they could collaborated with World Central Kitchen for this noble cause to provide with daily meals to hospitals and the long term care facilities in the New York, Boston, Chicago areas. He said that this initiative is a way of showing our gratitude towards them who have been working tirelessly to ensure people’s safety and better health.

Aside from helping out the healthcare workers and providing them with a bit of relief during these tough times, this initiative is also likely going to help the local businesses and restaurants which have been shut down because of the lack of business.

World Central Kitchen is also a non-profit organisation which was founded by popular chef Jose Andres and has been working to provide food to the communities during times of crisis.

Nate Mook, the CEO of World Central Kitchen said that he is extremely happy to be able to give back to the healthcare workers during this time of crisis in the form of meals. He believes that doing this is truly an honour for everyone and something everyone should look up to.
