Helplines that are available round the clock have been issued by the Indian Embassy in the United States in order to address the concerns and the queries regarding the recent travel advisory which has been issued by New Delhi which has suspended all the visas with few exceptions in the wake of the the outbreak of the deadly novel coronavirus scare.

The Indian Embassy in Washington has tweeted where in it has been mentioned regarding the issuance of the 24*7 helpline for queries and clarifications which has been done regarding the recent advisory that has been issued by the Government of India on traveling to India.

The two helpline numbers that have been issued by the Indian Embassy in the United States are +1 202-2123-1364 and +1 202-262-0375.

The government of India has suspended all the visas with few exceptions that include the diplomatic and official travel as there has been steady increase in the number of cases that have been confirmed as being infected by the deadly coronavirus and the cases are continuing to proliferate around the world. Therefore, an advisory has been issued by by the Indian Embassy in the United States on the travel to India.

The embassy has said in a statement that the visa- free travel facility that has been granted to the card holders of the Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) is kept in abeyance till the 15th of April.

It has also been further said in the statement that the international traffic through the land borders would be restricted to the designated check posts which would have robust screening facilities and that these check posts would be separately notified by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the outbreak of the deadly novel coronavirus as pandemic.

Coronavirus, which has been officially named as COVID-19 has first originated in the Wuhan city of China and has spread over 116 countries until now where in it has infected around 134,918 people across the globe and the virus has claimed lives of 4,989 people until now.
