Two unidentified men walked into a restaurant on Thursday in the Canadian city of Mississauga and set off a bomb, wounding more than a dozen people, and then fleeing, authorities said.

Peel Regional Police said a bomb that tore apart an Indian restaurant Bombay Bhel in Mississauga. Two suspects – men in their mid-20s – fled the scene immediately after. 15 people are in hospital, 3 in critical condition. Officials from our Consulate are rushing to the hospital. We are awaiting more details from the police – official sources

The blast went off in the Bombay Bhel restaurant at about 10:30 p.m. Fifteen people were taken to hospital, three of them with critical injuries, the Peel Regional Paramedic Service said in a Tweet.

It is evident from the witness that , two male suspects entered in to the restaurant and made out to execute their plan by detonating their most technically improvised and advanced fire device, according to the reports given by Police department over the social media

There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Police posted a photograph on Twitter showing two people with dark zip-up foodies walking into an establishment with one of them appearing to be carrying an object.

Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs, Government of India tweeted saying that she is in touch with the Consul General in Toronto.

“There is a blast in Indian restaurant Bombay Bhel in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I am in constant touch with our Consul General in Toronto and Indian High Commissioner in Canada. Our missions will work round the clock. The Emergency number is : +1-647-668-4108,” she tweeted.

The bombing attack in Mississauga, which is Canada’s sixth largest city in the country, takes in a month after a driver tilled his white Ryder rental van into a lunch-hour crowd in Toronto, killing 10 people and injuring 15.

Mississauga is on Lake Ontario about 20 miles (32 km) west of Toronto.
