A landslide swept away 8 houses into a nearby sea. A video was shot by a local resident, Jan Egil Bakkedal and one of the damaged houses is his own. Soon, he realized it was a landslide and he chased to escape from the life danger.

The natural landslip took place in a town of Alta on Wednesday. A local man, Bakkedal was preparing a sandwich for the noon meal and he heard a big shockening sound. He shows the landslide sweeping away the houses into the huge waters closer to the landslide area. He recorded the happening of it and he said “ran for my life” into hills surrounded in short distance.

Local Police of Norway told that the landslide was between 650 meters and 800 meters (2,145-2,640 feet) wide and up to 40 meters (132 feet) high.

A policeman who closely looked and monitored the area said, a car was dragged into the sea but no one was injured. A dog got stuck in the sea for a while and could swim back safely.

Following this, many landslides occurred in the surrounding places and the people were temporarily moved to safe shelters.
