NRI-Accuses-Policemen

Munish Kumar, an NRI based out of Canada alleged charges against the inaction by the police officials for failing to register a valid FIR over his complaint on the theft of his luggage from the Indo-Canadian bus while he was returning from the Delhi airport to Jalandhar. Kumar is originally from Kartarpur in India.

Clarifying the issued, Kumar said that he took his flight from Canada on October 16 for the New Delhi International Airport and reached India at around 03:15 AM at the international airport. From there, he took the Indo-Canadian bus to reach Jalandhar from where he experienced the theft.

He further said that after some of the passengers boarded the bus from Delhi, the bus then stopped at the Phagwara Indo-Canadian office where many of the passengers got down from the bus.

Once he reached Jalandhar, he enquired about his luggage to the driver and witnessed that one of his luggage bags was missing.

Upon finding the bag missing, Kumar rushed to the driver to get answers and even filed a complaint at the Indo-Canadian main office located in Jalandhar. There, with the CCTV footage, they found a girl and a boy clearly stealing Kumar’s bag once they got down at Phagwara.

When he asked about the contact information of those two passengers, Kumar was shocked to know that the officials didn’t have any kind of information or status on who they were.

Kumar also mentioned that the bag contains a number of important documents and cash in it which is why he is so frantic to get it bag. It contains his Canadian work permit, the Canadian license, MSP letter, SIN number and some money.

The police from the Kapurthala said that they are trying their best to source the culprits and find better ways to get the bag back to the NRI.
