Probe on companies abusing visa program

The State Department and the US Justice is all set to share information regarding probing the companies that abuses the visa programs, which is aimed at hiring the foreign individuals. The move has come under the moves by the Trump Administration to reform the immigration sector.

The agreement was made by the Justice Jeff Sessions on Wednesday. Sessions has made the reform in the immigration sector his first priority since taking charge as the head of the department.

As per the agreement, Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department and Bureau of Consular Affairs of the State Department will share the information about the companies, which are discriminating against the American nationals. Due to the decision the H1-B visa program, most oftenly used by firms such as Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp and Infosys Ltd, to bring foreign workers into the Unites States for their skills with low investment. Other visa programs, which will be affected by the decision includes, H2-B and H2-A.

The Labor Department is also set to focus more on eliminating the visa abuse by the organizations after the Executive Order signed by President Donald Trump under his “America First” initiative.

All the visa norms are, however, exempted for the organizations, who are hiring for at least $60,000 annual income with at least graduate degree.
