All activities come to a halt in the UK due to the discovery of a new strain of the Corona-virus.

The government of India banned all flights from the UK till December 31 in hope of not catching and spreading the new strain in India. The ban will commence on Wednesday and will proceed till the causalities stop. All passengers arriving from the UK will be tested before arriving at the airport.

India has touched 10 million cases and the number is increasing rapidly. To prevent the number from increasing further more, the government is taking precautionary steps. However, over the last two months there has been a decline in cases and the country’s authority does not want to trigger that at any cost.

The new strain of the virus was first detected in southeast England in September. It quickly spread in London and other parts of UK. An individual from Italy who had recently visited UK was infected with the mutant virus.

Countries have began to panic with the rise of the new strain. However, health officials are asking citizens to follow strict pandemic protocols and social distance. They also claim that the existing vaccine is effective against the new mutant strain.

The European Union health experts believe the existing Pfizer vaccine is effective against the new Corona-virus strain.

India will continue to block transport from UK and European countries till 31 December. However, if the number of cases are increasing in the UK, the ban might extend till whenever the situation recedes.
