Ambala Srikanth, 26 years old spent his entire life struggling with the sense of loss as the bread winner of the family has gone missing in Saudi Arabia and he had never seen his father as his mother conceived him when his father, Janardhan, visited India in 1993 which was his last visit to the country.

The family said that, Janardhan went missing in 1993 and that he was working for a firm near Riyadh were he worked for six years. But the family had no information regarding the city or the employer he had worked for. Janardhan is from Bandalingapur village in Chandurti mandal of Rajanna-Sircilla district and had flown to Saudi Arabia in order to secure a decent life for his family.

Srikanth tried to know about his father as he grew up witnessing his mother’s sorrow and his elder sisters say that they faintly remember their father as they were toddlers back then. Srikanth flew to Saudi Arabia to work, and also to find about his father.

“Words fail me if I try to explain what we have gone through. If someone is dead, you go to their grave. Let the god not put anyone to this situation,” Srikanth told over the phone to ‘Telangana Today’ . “Finding him was next to impossible as I have a copy of neither his passport nor his visa. I was not even aware of the location or city where my father worked,” added Srikanth.

A Dubai-based Telangana NRI and social worker who hails from Bandalingapur said that there has been another missing case as well where Besta Ellaiah of the same village has also been disappeared in Saudi Arabia, 25 years ago with no trace found until now.

Another incident of missing is that of B Shanker Reddy from Kindibasti of Chilkalguda in Secunderabad, whose son of 21 years old went missing 20 years ago in Sharjah in UAE. “This is more painful than death. One who does not go through this cannot understand,” said Ayyapa Reddy, his cousin. “We have contacted authorities here as well as in Dubai with all the details of passport and visa but no avail,” he added.
